Jun Yin earned his Ph.D. in Social Science from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. His research interests span social stratification, urban sociology, and child development. He has a broad interest in the social implications of housing issues in Chinese cities. A significant component of his work involves a comprehensive investigation into the political consequences of homeownership in Hong Kong. Another branch of his work explores the impact of overcrowded housing on individuals’ mental health in Chinese cities. Additionally, he is presently engaged in a project examining the role of residential mobility in shaping residents’ sense of belonging and collective efficacy in Shanghai, along with the underlying mechanisms driving these phenomena.
