Yi Zhang received his PhD in Urban Governance and Design from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2024. His research spans urban sociology, computational social science, and the sociology of education. He focuses on the causes and consequences of neighborhood change in Chinese cities (Hong Kong, Shanghai), utilizing multi-source data—such as image data, administrative records, and text data—combined with survey data to achieve his research objectives. Additionally, he investigates the allocation of educational resources in urban contexts.
