CASER Student Research Internship Program

About the Program

The CASER Student Research Internship Program will provide an interdisciplinary and intercultural platform to foster student interest in social science research for the furthering of study and/or the pursuit of a career.  

Admitted students will have the opportunity to obtain practical working experience by participating in center’s programs and research projects under the mentorship of the Center’s faculty affiliates at NYU Shanghai.  Students will also work within the cross-cultural research group at NYU Shanghai, NYU’s global network and CASER’s broad collaboration networks.  

The focused areas of work will cover aging and health, computational social science, education and human development, gender and family, inequality and poverty, population and migration, and urban studies (Shanghai and Hong Kong).

Successful applicants will receive financial support for the duration of the program.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Highly motivated students who are currently enrolled in an undergraduate program or graduate program in their home institution. Applicants at the graduate level must have permission from either their home affiliation or research supervisor
  • Students who have strong academic records in relevant areas and with strong passion for research
  • Students with good command of English

Program Duration

2-6 months
