NYU Shanghai and Hongkong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou), and Shanghai University jointly launched the Joint Urban Survey and Intervention Lab (JUST Lab) in June, 2022. The aim of the JUST Lab is to promote academic exchanges based on research activities conducted at Yangtze River Delta and the Pearl River Delta, and further promote urban survey and quantitative research in Chinese cities to better serve the society.

The JUST Lab will become a collaborative platform operated jointly by NYU Shanghai, Hongkong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou), and Shanghai University, with the Secretariat set up at the Center for Applied Social and Economic Research at NYU Shanghai.

The JUST Lab will build cohesion among common research interests and leverage synergy of all partner organizations to jointly explore the frontiers of urban studies and foster the research and career of young scholars.
