Maocan Guo is a PhD graduating from Department of Sociology, Harvard University. His research spans the substantive fields of education, mobility, inequality, labor market processes, and distributive justice. Broadly defined, he seeks to understand how different social groups are being incorporated or excluded in a variety of stratification processes and what mechanisms contribute to their respective outcomes, and how different social groups perceive, respond and make sense of the mobility and inequality at hand. He has published in both English and Chinese journals. His current projects include college admission and party recruitment processes in contemporary China.
