The 2024 Spring Meeting of the Research Committee 28 on Social Stratification and Mobility (RC28) of the International Sociological Association (ISA) will be held May 17-19 at Shanghai New York University. The theme of the meeting is “Life Course and Social Inequality in Comparative Perspective.” Dr. Yu Xie, the Bert G. Kerstetter ’66 University Professor of Sociology at Princeton University, has been invited to give a keynote address on “Family, Child Development, and Social Mobility in Contemporary China”.
The conference is organized by the Center for Applied Social and Economic Research at Shanghai New York University. The conference received 378 papers from 163 universities and research institutions across 32 countries worldwide. Following a rigorous selection process, the organizing committee has carefully chosen 171 papers. The number of conference registrants has exceeded 200. The conference dinner and award presentation will be held on the evening of May 18th aboard the Pujiang River cruise ship, Corning.
